Leaving Grand Teton and Yellowstone Parks we made a stopover at Cody - Buffalo Bills town to go to a very good museum about the Indian history. In Cody too was an old Wild West town where they had put saloons, huts and other buildings collected from all over the area including those where the famous Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid from the Whole in the wall gang had lived in.

Just on the way to Boulder in Colorado where our friends from INSEAD live our car problems really started. While we were doing one of our "night drives" (as the kids call them) we had the red oil lamp coming on. When I stopped to check the oil level I found oil all over the engine and indeed no oil in the engine left. We crawled to the next petrol station to fill up with oil and checked every 30 km whether we were loosing oil. I couldn’t see any more oil losses so we continued with a very bad feeling in the stomach to our camp target in Casper and went to bed. The following day we drove carefully to Boulder through a major rainstorm but made it without any other problems.

An apparently local custom in Boulder is the so called "NBBQ" (Night Barbecue) trying to avoid being told off by the park ranger!
In case you did not know: Brits who live in the states and are married to French women are required to wear funny hats!
Yes, and then the car problems (a story with lots of follow on parts): In the garage they found out about an oil leak on my German (over)engineered car. On which part: the only part that they don’t know how to repair in the States since the Sprinter sold in the US (under Dodge) is not sold with a 4-wheel-drive! Serves me right having wanted to have a better car than the other travellers.
For the time being I was stressed and just found out how to keep an eye on the hydraulic oil level and how to fill it up when needed and hoping that it would not get worse!
