Going North: Calgary to Alaska (III) We had to quickly learn on the campsite that our fabulous vehicle was only to be found in the category "Mini" in Canada and the States. Compared to Europe where trailers are pulled by cars, here often the motorhome is pulling the car behind (we must get a picture to show you). Most Canadians and Americans travel with things that look more like a 100 people passenger bus - however, most of the times they are occupied by an elderly couple. We were told that prices for these things range from 200 000 - 700 000 $. Nevertheless, we are getting slowly used to living on 12 m2. Two people working in the kitchen is pushing it to really get a family dispute. 2 people in the kitchen plus the others working at the table gets close to suicide.

Mount Robson, the highest peak in Canada (can’t remember whether this is correct)
Learning about the native Indians (or the First Nation as they are called) was important for us to get a little below the surface of the country. The Gitsan or Ksan people have rebuild a village in the old way and explain to people their traditions that are still followed today (and the impact of the white people on their existence - which is the less honourable part). 쟆질쯊췌쿎퇐폒Ô
Subsequently we went down to the sea at Stewart, or better the US village of Haynes. This is a place where you can watch the bears fishing for Salmon. A tremendous experience for the children. Only a few meters away from the bears (some bridges are build for visitors to eliminate the extent of intrusion and risk) we could watch them in the morning and evening feeding on the Salmon that had come to the river to lay their eggs. Unfortunately, it was too dark to get got pictures with our camera. We will try to put a short video clip at a later stage in here.
From there we went further up the valley to admire the Salmon glacier (it has to be said that they are not very creative with the names here) and the abandoned mines!
