Alaska down South - Meeting Beng, Vivian and Yoav
Having arrived in Bellingham in the US with the boat we had to drive back to Canada to get to Vancouver to visit an old friend of Kate: Beng who she worked for in the bank and his wife Vivian and their son Yoav. They were just in the process of moving into an appartment having left Calgary. So we did not appear at the most appropriate moment. Nevertheless, they made time available for us and took us on a boat trip in horseshoebay. A bit worried not having ever driven a proper motorboat we went on the journey. But it obviously turned out great fun with especially me getting completely wet since the high of the screen was just enough to cover me up to my neck, but not the head!

Beng and Vivian even took the children for one evening so that we could have our first childfree 3 hours since almost 2 months and go to a very nice fish restaurant with a view of the Vancouver bay.
We had a great and relaxing time with ample opportunity (for Kate) to go shopping before we headed off to our next "parasite stay" with friends just South of the American border.

We went on a trip with two motor boats together with Beng, Vivian and Yoav. It was lots of fun because Daddy always crossed them (in the other boat) over. Once, Beng got stuck in front of a huuuge ferry! He could not get his engine to start and we were very worried that the ferry would sink them. But then Daddy showed them the button they had to press.
And I was allowed to steer the boat - and Lili too! Then we went to a nice pretty island where we had a picknick.
On the way back we saw some sealions lying on a rock.
It was great on the way back because we jumped over the waves sitting with Cléo in the back and getting splashed.
As we came back in the bay we saw the propeller was a bit broken. So we had to pay extra for both boats!
