Alaska down South (cont’d) Anna’s account: We were very excited when the ferry, the Malaspina, arrived in the port. We drove in the hull of the ship and parked the camper. Then we ran upstairs to find out about our cabin. It was very nice but not very big. Before supper I saw an Orca only 20 meter away from the boat. I could see all his back and I spotted him. ^⌟Ȑ

Lili’s account: I liked the boat very much because it was big and I liked our little room too. There were two bunk beds. Therefore, two children had to sleep together in one bed. Our room had a nice window and a shower and a loo and a place to wash your hands. There was a launch at the front with presentations: a ranger explained about wildlife and the story of ‘Smokey the bear’. This is a real story about wildfires and a cup that had survived a wildfire and was found by the rangers. They wrote a song about him and called him Smokey. There is also a cafeteria where you could look out of the windows and could see the forests go by. There was also a telly room. I liked being outside and watching the wildlife. We even saw a group of Orcas playing in the sea. They jumped up but not very high. But we could see there bodies. We also saw a humpback whale and two dolphins.
